Batman: The Dark Knight Rises

We are less than two weeks away from the release of The Dark Knight Rises. Holey moley Batman I cant wait!! Check out our reviews of every Batman movie every made coming soon (including animated pieces). While I have you you should go and watch Batman: Under The Red Hood immediately if you like Batman at all. Its brilliant, simply brilliant. Back to The Dark Knight Rises.

It's set to be a masterpiece. Its the last in the series of work from legendary Christopher Nolan who may even beat Tim Burton on the scale of best Batman movies :). Its set eight years after The Dark Knight when Batman took the fall for Harvey Dents crimes and had to go undercover leaving Gotham to fend for itself. Now a new terrorist leader Bane (as if theres anyone alive who doesn't know the guy) is taking over the city and Gothams finest cant stop him. Its time now. Its time for the Dark Knight to rise and protect the city that has labelled him a criminal. Rumour has it that a recent screening of this movie received a standing ovation, so fingers crossed this will be every bit as good as The Dark Knight although that may be hard done.

Can anyone that's interested in Batman please tell me this: will Christopher Nolan have Bane, either kill Batman or break his back like in the comics..? There is a few little hints of  that in the teasers but i'm not so sure would he go that far for a shock. Imagine the ending of the movie was Bane actually winning and our hero lay broken? That would be a shock to the system wouldn't it! Jimmeny Willickers Batman!

All comments welcome, please feel free. Make sure and watch the deadly trailer below.

  1. The Geekness Monster!! received this email from Stuart C in Australia about The Dark Knight Rises. So far, from what I have seen of the new Batman movie, it looks to be a thriller, what with the inclusion of the character Bane, who is known in the comics as the man who "broke the Bat" as well as Catwoman, which means that Batman/Bruce Wayne has his work cut out for him, especially as he's still receiving the public lashing for Harvey Dent's mayhem in the previous movie.
And I am really champing at the bit to see how the showdown goes down in the climax of the film, as who knows which of the three main leads will end up bloody, broken or dead by the end of it.
